Note in addition- fly over the northern Boreal Forest (I hope just in Alberta) and it is criss-crossed by seismic lines, exploration roads, and the clear-cut blocks logged for pulp wood by Mitsubichi and other concerns.
Now that diamonds are being found in quantity (and more area being explored), another thread to the Boreal forest is looming large. (They are good quality diamonds- one company marks theirs with a tiny microscopic bear- whose habitat is seriously diminished by all the activity).
