Thanks for posting this song; I feel inclined to sing it "in memorium" for my father who spent 1941 -45 in an anti-submarine trawler HMS Scalby Wyke. He had no nautical background but trained as a "sparks" (radio operator) His sphere of ops. was mainly North Sea & Irish Sea but I recall him telling me he sailed to the Faeroe
Isles on one occasion.
