Thread Name: tugboat music radio and panel workshop
Subject: tugboat music radio and panel workshop
This will be in Seattle WA USA this week. The CD on Tugboats, called NW Tugboat Tales (I almost did a Freudian slip and put in Sales) is expected to be out for sale at Folklife, barring some sort of unexpected situation. Official pronouncements etc. will come out later, and official album release parties/concerts will be announced later. Our immediate goal is to sell a number of these at Folklife so we are jumping the gun a bit.

So in an unofficial but somewhat related event, we are going to have a panel workshop at Folklife with a number of the singers on the CD. Unfortunately, some of the CD performers will have previous committments and can not attend. THis will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday the 29th at the Shaw Room. To publicize this panel workshop, there will be a show on KUOW public radio in Seattle at 9 a.m. Thursday te 27th. This will be live-streamed. Just google KUOW..there should be a couple of singers, perhaps a tugboat captain and a marine historian. Both of these will be put on by Jon Pfaff, who does really great events of this type.

Again, this is not an official function of the CD producers, and they will have events later on this summer. We just have this window of opportunity and need to take advantage of it. THere will be CDs for sale at the new website, which will be up in a few days, perhaps after folklife..maritimefolknet.org/tugboat. It is not active quite yet. I am hoping that there will be some sound samples so you can see how great the songs are.

This would be a great father's day present by the way, and there are books about NW tugboats that would be good companions to the CD.

Hope to see some of you at Folklife. mg
