I worked in a cabinet shop for almost 5 years... I saw several near-misses, and saw one former employee after losing 2 fingers to a *shudder* dado blade at another shop.

Now, having my own shop in the basement, I have rules about what I will and will NOT do....including how close to ANY blade I will get and when to wear face shields..etc.

I have a radial-arm saw, table saw, planer, 2 band saws, 2 lathes, 2 drill presses, stationary belt sander, and more power drills and sanders and saber saws..etc. than I want to list.

20 years now, and only a small cut from hurrying a bandsaw operation, and I know all the ways they CAN get you. I intend (knock wood ☺ to retire with ALL my appendages.
