Thread Name: Vulcan's Hammer & Richard Fewtrell
Subject: Vulcan's Hammer & Richard Fewtrell
Does anyone have recollections of Vulcan's Hammer from the 1970s and the fiddler Richard (Dick) Fewtrell? Dick Fewtrell is credited as the fiddler on the recording "True Hearts & Sound Bottoms" but left the group sometime in the early 1970s.
Richard Fewtrell, a fine singer, Ukelele and fiddle player died in Connecticut, USA, about a month ago at the age of 66. He came from Kent, somewhere around the Medway, among his belongings was an LP, "True Hearts and Sound Bottoms" and as the LP is very rare, only 250 pressed, I am sure that it is the same Richard Fewtrell that played for Vulcan's Hammer.
His family and friends are trying to fill in the gaps in his life. He made his living in the US by repairing and building wooden boats.
