Being out of fashion is hardly a complaint that should carry much weight in a forum founded on love of folk music. This would have been a crap song at any time, no less so if it was in fashion.

In the same way that I wouldn't expect Dragonforce to headline a folk festival, I wouldn't expect an "unfashionable" style of song to do well at EV, unless it was a parody. But I also expected it to be crap, as the last few dozen Waterman songs I've heard have been pretty dire.
