Only my opinion, but I would write it whether you have something special to say, or not... Why worry whether others like it or not? If you enjoyed writing it, it was worth taking the time, for yourself...not mudcatters...or anyone else.

Does writing a song of your own, mean you shouldn't sing traditional folk songs, too? Weird! Sounds like a rule that definitely should be broken...
