I posted the thread using Firefox. Never thought of AVG. Thanks, both of you. I had it scanning everyday, yet, when I went into Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs, it said I "rarely" used AVG and hadn't since August of 2009, which is truly weird, as I get a notification box which pops up after every scan, every day. I also didn't see how to shut it off, except to "exit" the AVG "tray" on my tool bar, so we'll see how this posting goes. Thanks.

I may try yet another download of Firefox, but am reluctant to do so without getting rid of ALL personal data first which isn't done when go to Tools and follow through on various points from there. My Rog said he'd heard of someone else getting a bad download of Firefox, too, so we shall see.
