NPR had a nice spot this morning on the revival (click) and a documentary out about it called, "The Mighty Uke: The Amazing Comeback of a Musical Underdog". There are clips on the NPR page (and as always, the NPR audio of the story is slightly richer than the transcript). The bottom line of the story was that a big part of the uke revival is the social aspect of the playing, as well as people getting back to making music themselves.
