AOL is $22 a month. I have been told it's a memory hog, and causes a lot of freeze-ups, etc. I know I always freeze up if I ever try to use any of their bells and whistles (news services, etc.) Do other people (besides Kendall) find that AOL causes more problems than they solve? A friend of mine says it's better to have your own email and browser programs, which I don't need with AOL. Is that true?

My housemates intend to get hooked up to a cable in the not-too-distant future, and I would like go on that with them.
