Pete, The number of arrivals on Thursday caught the pub a little by surprise...they were hoping for a gentle lead-in to the manic weekend!!

Hence my question - if we're going to start Thursday evening, we need to officially start Thursday evening so everyone's prepared for it. There's a significant difference for us as organisers to the festival starting 7.30 pm on Friday with a Travelling folk session in the bar Thursday evening, and starting the festival Thursday evening with Travelling Folk. May all look the same to you guys but believe me, it isn't!! Running the folk ale is a continuous learning process for all the organisers, that's why the feedback is useful.
