This is a specialty from Skåne in Southern Sweden, where my ancestors are from! I think they are often served at weddings. Spettkaka is a crunchy merangue concoction. (could it mean "spit" as in roasted on a spit? These folks are speaking with a Skånska accent...when the play
"My Fair Lady" is performed in Sweden, the "Cockney" accent is done in a Skånska accent--)

i would like to adapt a barbeque turning roaster to cook these!
