One does not need to be gay, openly or otherwise, to be able to spread the Christian gospel or to promote gay rights. If folks truly followed Christ's teachings then being gay would not be cause for anyone to be bothered about at all. Acceptance and love of others should be part of any true Christian's belief system... just as Christ decreed: "love one another".

Mudcat has so many gay threads at present one would hope that being gay is being celebrated as part of life's rich tapestry!

Perhaps what we really need is an out of the closet openly folkie televangelist ;-)
