Something I have never managed to do Hamish, or talk. I can only manage a grunt, or I may blurt out the word change on a held note.
It is the new tunes that create the excitement and challenge for me and that has always been the case and you are correct that returning to the old ones you start to play them better because of the approaches you have learnt from the new experiences.
