Most folkies are blissfully unaware that Burl Ives was an undercover orangutan...an orangutan with a good body shave...and let's not forget that he testified against other musicians for the HUAC. On the other hand, he did a fantastic acting job in "The Big Country" and "Cat On a Hot Tin Roof", so he wasn't all bad. The thing with orangutans is, you don't want to arouse their wrath.
