This is the period of time - between mid-April and the end of June - when Juneau has its driest, brightest weather so it's no surprise that is what we have had for the last few weeks. Lilacs, poppies and sweet rocket are in full bloom and the air is scented and warm. Our temperatures generally range from the upper 40s to the low 70s. Perfect for me- any time ambient air hits 75 and up I have little patience with it.

Where I am from, in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, I'm told that it's been a wet chilly spring this year. My brother in Salem told me last week they haven't even put in a garden yet; the ground has been too wet and heavy.
