I do not mean to frighten you away,
That you should run when I call out your name.
You need not worry about me- I'll stay
At distance you desire, and make no claim
Upon your time. I've found you muse, but know
No more than you have told. I might yet dream
Of heart's desire, but only dreams shall go
In search of hope: I would not have it seem
That I require more than smile. Perhaps mail
Has become burden: Shall I not send tithe
Of my endeavors? Yet, does my verse fail
To show my soul? Can you not see heart writhe?
I have no wish to bury verse, but will,
Should you desire: I cannot wish you ill.
