Yes, Saddleworth's always been a good one, but remember that apart from a couple of big headliners guests it's on a different and more intimate scale from the world focus of Brampton. And even Saddleworth might be in the lap of the gods after this year's, I am led to believe....

Oh, and there's also Stainsby Festival on that same weekend, at £70 for the weekend ticket.

But let's face it, Brampton Live was always a leader in the field, and this year had in its schedules the premiere of a special commission (the All Along the Wall show featuring five top songwriters and two poets and celebrating Hadrian's Wall) as well as a very rare UK appearance by Iris Dement... which will be much missed.
