I think it's a great idea, Ebbie. If you sleep near some homeless people you have some acquaintance with, they'll watch out for you - and they'll love you forever for doing it. It isn't unusual of a person "outside" to have a dog, toilet paper and warm blankets - but your dog may have trouble getting along with other people's dogs.

I haven't slept out with homeless people, but I've worked with them quite a bit over the last ten years. If I have the chance, I sit down and eat with them, and they appreciate that.
