Sonnet 07/12/00                        DVIII

A morning, cold and brisk, that brings me joy
With words from muse. Heart is redeemed, to see
She cares. Though at year's end, my dreams now toy
With springtime, growing, thoughts: There might still be
A chance to look into her eyes, and seek
For heart's desire. Perhaps I care too much,
For one unknown, in truth, but heart is weak
And cannot resist muse: I long to touch
The fire of her hair, see in her eye smile
And laughter. How can I reflect the light
The thought of her has brought? I cannot pile
Praise enough, to let me reach to her height.
My verse has brought her smile- I cannot ask
For more, nor can I all my feelings mask.
