Perhaps not Kendall but the Jesus in this statue was sometimes referred to as a shortening!

The song by Heywood Banks is one of my favorites.....here we go, Big Butter Jesus. If your first thought is like Heywood's, that this thing looked just like the various butter sculptures at the state fair, then you too are hopelessly midwestern. Heywood has already written a new last verse and chorus:

One night Big Butter
Got struck by lightning
And it burned to the framewire
In a giant grease fire.
Some blamed it on Satan,
And boy, that would be frightening
But I thought it was Jesus' father
Who was in charge of lightning.
