I just got a recent update on any changes to this festival. A concert of John Conolly & Pete Summer (Fiddler's Green & Grimsby Lads), Kat yn't Seil (from the Netherlands) & the NexTradition, this Thrusday evening concert used to be a members concert, it's now the beginning of the festivities. Friday's evening concert is the Buckingham Lining Bar Gang, John Hardford & Mystic's Forebitter, following this is a pub sing on site at the Galley. Saturday's evening concert is Gordon Bock & Cindy Kallet, Odetta (50 years performing) & the Mystic Chanteyman, followed by another pub sing intown & a contradance at the Odd Fellows Hall. Sunday evening is a concert of all performers. The rest of the line is; Friends Academy (the Beans), from San Franscio-Allen MacLeod, Dick & Carol Holdstock & Tom Murphy, Bill Hullfish & the Golden Egal String Band, Margaret McCandless, Wickford Express, Dick Swain & Nancy Matilda, Ken Sweeney, Carl Thornton, Bob Webb, Bob Zentz, Pint & Dale, Finn& Haddie, Marge Bruchac, Doug Day & Jeff Warner. The following is taken from a letter from Mystic, "This festival will include performances & presentations that explore the role of African-Americans in American maritime culture, the connections between deepwater sailors & other group workers such as railroad gangs, loggers, & cowboys, & the "maritime" culture of inland waterways".It's always been a great maritime festival, this years direction should prove to be brilliant.
