download malwarebytes from malwarebytes.org. Install it UPDATE IT and run it using in depth scan.

They will get rid of a lot of unnecessary stuff. The tchnical name for it is crap removal. CCLEANER has a registry cleaner built in, I have used it on a lot of machines and never had a problem. It gives the option to back up your registry before removing unneeded entries. Once all of this is done your next prot of call is task manager. Hopefully you won't need to use it.
