Bev and Jerry, I'm glad you added to this! So is my friend in Ventura right, is Cambria itself a nice destination for a few days away from the chaos that is that whole urban area that stretches out from LA? I'm sure that is the place she mentioned heading to when she wanted to get away.

I loved visiting the Hearst Castle. I had an acquaintance years ago whose father was the supt of that California State Park, and heard a lot of interesting stories about the behind the scenes stuff. I wish there was more time on the tours, and I think there are two or three to choose from. If you're there and there are a couple, you may want to make a couple of reservations and see different parts of it.
