Subject: RE: BS: Old Pocket Watches
My grandfather left me his Illinois 1917 model railroad watch. He bought it new when he signed on at the L&N in Louisville KY and had it until he retired in 1967. It had a cracked crystal and hadn't worked since I got it in about 1972, but I had it repaired by a Russian watchmaker about a year ago for about 150, and now have it in a shadowbox with a photo of a steam engine behind it. Keeps perfect time (when I wind it).
