Another verse

We had sums and games and song-book learning too,
And our sisters took them so no one was bored.
And although the visitors were mighty few
We never turned the stranger from the door.
Chorus

Not sure whether there is a third verse - perhaps not. I frst heard this when I picked up an LP fpr £6 - pre-decimalisation - on York station when I was a teenager. It was Hank Williams Junior and a band - can't remember their name, and every song was a gem. Sadly the LP went missing when I was away from home one time. I'd love to know the title of that LP, although I don't think it has survived to CD. Some of the other tracks were The Dream of the Miner's Child, Engine 23, Squiirel is a Pretty Thing, Lonesome for You, Jim Hatfield's Son, and other wonderful songs, beautifully performed.
