Well, it's curiouser and curiouser.

When I got home, I started in Safe Mode and tried to do everything that olddude suggested. So far, so good.

But when push came to shove, it still said that the webpage could not be found. I tried to print off the Diagnostics but it said I didn't have a printer (Of course, that could have been a result of being in safe mode (?).

So I went back offline and through the Start button went to System Tools. Did a System Restore and Viola! (My sis in law's middle name) I was back in business.

However, I want to add to my anti-virus/spyware weapons, and quickly.

I am willing to purchase one but, other than covering more features, are the paid-for ones appreciably better than the Free ones? I have used both in the past and didn't notice any difference, except for my resenting having to re-puchase the stuff every year.
