Thanks for noticing I'd been de-cluttered!

At the moment it's 10am and I am waiting for the arrival of the plumber to service the heating system. Last week he said he'd come early...bet he's been called out.

I managed to get my side of the dreaded leylandii hedge cut back yesterday, and at the same time they swept all the accumulated dust off my drive, which was a bonus, and something I was going to have to do.
I've been out this morning and trimmed the bay at the front, and regretfully poured weedkiller into the horseradish, which is not the thing you want to see in a front garden when you are trying to sell the house. The root goes so far you'd never get it out. I had never used it, anyway.

So the jobs left to do are: chucking out, sorting out and boxing up things that are not needed at present; painting the 2 white window frames, and touching up other little bits of woodwork; general weed and tidy of the garden BEFORE I go to Scotland, so that I am not faced with a replica of the Borneo jungle when I get back; get a window cleaner in; generally clean, and tidy up.

I managed to repair my carpet the other day. Luckily it's wool, and a Berber weave. I got a couple of loose loops from the edge of the piece in the under-stairs cupboard (aka "glory-hole") and patched it in with some extremely strong glue. I had bombarded the burn with carpet spot remover the day before, and so the singeing was paler. Now, unless you know where to look, you'd never notice. Now, after 36 hours, I am going to try the vacuum test!
