Thread Name: Aw, Can We Keep Him???
Subject: RE: Aw, Can We Keep Him???
The refabrication of the QE1 collar worked well, aS DID BRIEF FORAYS WITHOUT IF FOR RESPITE (oops, capslock) and we have a grateful doggeh.

I have to say though that having him in it is like taking away our week with the dog-- the logistics within our ministry schedule and household constraints add up to way too much "put him outside" time to suit us.... on the one hand I am grateful we will have decent info due to the biopsy, and maybe slow this thing down a bit by having taken out the "mother" lump.

But on the other hand it gives me the willies to think how lucky we have been even to have a dog with such a perfect temperament to suit our constraints-- how hard it will be to find another. The more the constraints affect him now, the nicer he is about it.

He LOVES being outside all summer, so he's fine with being away from US. But I'm just not spending my days the way my commitments would suggest I "ought"-- he's gone to the top of THAT list, for the duration.

Tomorrow, for instance, we have a long, LONG daytrip to fetch noncontaminated water from Dharmabum's home spring (TBTG for HIM). F will get car meds to come along. He has not gotten a lot of rides because of his perennial carsickness, but now.... he gonna rahd alawng and visit DB's place, partly because he knows DB and his smell. Tho DB will not be there, he WILL be there for next week's water trip and F will enjopy visitng a good friend he's known since pupdays.

He sure is sleeping a lot. This aftn I'll go sit out there with him, maybe take a toy. Tdy his part of Dog World also will get a sunshade-- an old table with a cracked top to let the breeze blow by him. Then he can hang out beside Sadie curled up in their usual under-tree spot, cuz he rather sit with her than me.

But I will take a ball, too! And I got fud! :~)
