Once again proving that if you start with a melody that is really "right", you can do almost anything with it without hurting it, so long as you treat it with respect.
Glad you posted the new "cut", Dan; didn't want to knock the original, but the pickup of the guitar sound came off sort of as if I had a cracked or loose cone in a 'puter speaker.
