That reminds me of a story (not enacted on TV, alas). A guy comes downstairs in the morning and his wife is in the kitchen, just putting some eggs into boiling water.

"Quick," she says, "Make love to me!"
So, surprised, but pleased, he leads her to the settee in the breakfast nook and goes at it. When he's finished, she gets up and goes back to the stove.
"Egg timer's busted," she explains.

And I find if I didn't have cable channels, I wouldn't watch much TV. Myth-Busters, PBS' Mysteries, and National Geographic, plus, every four years, the World Cup (but not the Olympics), add news shows of various kinds, and that's about it.
