Hi Little Duckling, hope you have great success with the fiddle (or is it violin?) I went to High School with a fellow who was the State Champion Classial Violinist, so I always teased him about being a fiddle player & asked if he could play "Turkey In The Straw!" Keep after it, and remember to state well-rounded in your playing.
