Subject: RE: It's Raining (songs about rain)
Crooked Little Man (Don't Let the Rain Come Down) was written by Ersel Hickey & Ed E. Miller and recorded by The Serendipity Singers, 1964. I sing it for kindergarteners. They love it. Here's my play sheet.

Crooked Little Man, The [Capo 2]

Uh-[G]huh, oh no, don't let the [C]rain come down
Uh-[D]huh, oh no, don't let the [G]rain come down
Uh-[G]huh, oh no, don't let the [C]rain come down
My [D]roof's got a hole in it and I might drown
Oh yes, my [D]roof's got a hole in it
And I might [G]drown

There [G]was a crooked man
And he [D]had a crooked smile
[D]Had a crooked sixpence
And he [G]walked a crooked mile
[G]Had a crooked cat
And he [C]had a crooked mouse
They [D]all lived together
In a crooked little [G]house

Uh-[G]huh, oh no, don't let the [C]rain come down
Uh-[D]huh, oh no, don't let the [G]rain come down
Uh-[G]huh, oh no, don't let the [C]rain come down
My [D]roof's got a hole in it and I might drown
Oh yes, my [D]roof's got a hole in it
And I might [G]drown

Well, this [G]crooked little man
And his [D]crooked little smile
[D]Took a crooked sixpence
And he [G]walked a crooked mile
[G]Bought some crooked nails
And a [C]crooked little bat
[D]Tried to fix his roof with a rat-a-tat-[G]tat

Uh-[G]huh, oh no, don't let the [C]rain come down
Uh-[D]huh, oh no, don't let the [G]rain come down
Uh-[G]huh, oh no, don't let the [C]rain come down
My [D]roof's got a hole in it and I might drown
Oh yes, my [D]roof's got a hole in it
And I might [G]drown

Now this [G]crooked little man
And his [D]crooked cat and mouse
They [D]all lived together
In a [G]crooked little house
[G]Has a crooked door
With a [C]crooked little latch
That's a [D]crooked group
With the crooked little [G]patch

UUh-[G]huh, oh no, don't let the [C]rain come down
Uh-[D]huh, oh no, don't let the [G]rain come down
Uh-[G]huh, oh no, don't let the [C]rain come down
My [D]roof's got a hole in it and I might drown
Oh yes, my [D]roof's got a hole in it
And I might [G]drown
UUh-[G]huh, oh no,
Don't let the [C]rain [D]come [G]down
