Obama has been too quick to withdraw the nominations of anyone the right wing goes after, such as Van Jones.   If anyone really deserves to be axed, it's Vilsack, whose knee-jerk reaction to Brietbart's falsehoods and distortions not only harmed Shirley Sherrod but brought undeserved shame to the administration itself.   Some say that anyone in a private corporation who did such a thing would be fired immediately.    Brietbart and Fox behaved with deliberate malice (politically anyway), IMO.   The other media behaved unprofessionally by echoing the distortions without examination. But Vilsack behaved unprofessionally and irresponsibly too, and in a way that caused considerable harm.

Shirley Sherrod would have grounds to sue Vilsack, but she has accepted his apology.   I don't think Fox or Brietbart have apologized or tried to make up for the damage they've done. Sherrod should sue them.
