I did provide a link to the Victoria Folk Song Society above. One of their song circles has a nautical theme once a month and "anything goes" alternatively. Its location has been the Bent Mast Pub in the James Bay neighborhood of Victoria. They are quite friendly to visitors.

Another place for music is in Steveston Village, just south of Vancouver in the Town of Richmond, where they do Thursday Sings at Murakami Boathouse, in the Brittannia Heritage Shipyard. Dave McArthur (dave@stevestonfolk.org) is the primary contact for their Folk Song Society.

Good luck on your search and be sure to report back with an update.
