Some of you Mudcatters will remember and others of you may know of the duo Anonyma from the latter half of the 80s. Which was me working with Mary McLaughlin.
Last year we did a short but very sweet reunion tour, which took in Broadstairs Festival and folk club gigs at Walthamstow, Llantrisant and Bude as well as a few other events. This year we've both had preoccupations which have meant it hasn't happened. Mary is currently back in California (after spending the year studying at the University of Limerick).
However, thanks to Shammick Acoustic contacting me to ask if we're up for a gig next summer we're now attempting to get organised and we're looking for gigs. In the UK that'd be from mid June at the earliest to mid September at the latest - but we've also heard various strangulated squawks from friends in the US asking if we could possibly do some stuff there too.
So here's the thing - I'd love to get back to the US but (a) I'd need someone to help me to get a P3 visa who would have to be a savvy US citizen and (b) both the US gigs and the UK gigs will need to make enough money to make it all worthwhile.
Please by all means respond to this thread to keep it alive for a little while (I may have to re-start it later in the year) but it's probably best to contact me via a PM if you think you can help with the visa.
For anyone who doesn't know much about Anonyma - we'll be singing some of our own songs as well as some trad Irish, English and Welsh, mostly in harmony. And we enjoy ourselves a lot!
We'll be putting together a proper website very soon and I'll put a link up for that as soon as it's done.
