My grandparents from County Sligo and Cavan sang this song to my dad, and he sang it to me. I have bounced my children and grandchildren on my knee or foot to this song. One of the joys of my life has been to see the twinkles in their little eyes and smiles on their face as they bounced to the rhythm of the song.
