Do you use any other browsers? Why not import the cookies and settings from one of the others and restore at least part of the old functionality?

I have been using Google's Favorites for some time now. I imported my existing favorites from my most heavily used browser (these days it's Firefox, but it used to be IE) and I add favorites to the Google list then I can open it in any of my browsers. I know, it's too late for some of your list now, but it's something to think about as you move forward from this crash.
