Amos, check this scene out, from 'Maytime'. In this scene, in the film, they are on stage doing an opera. Watch in full screen, from about 6:10, on out..the intensity of the two of them, who, in real life were lovers, but in secret, because of MGM's policies. MGM would not allow them to marry(true story). Nelson proposed to her in Lake Tahoe, when they were filming 'Rose Marie' (the earlier 'Mountie' clip I posted earlier, where they do "Indian Love Call")...but because of their professional commitments and entanglements, she couldn't say 'Yes'. In real life, though they both got married to others, they still had a relationship going on....for decades, on the sly!
