I've just learned that in a year my boss is stepping down, moving into the History Department (he's been teaching adjunct there since he arrived in the library, and is a historian by Ph.D. training), and the university will hire a library dean who has a library degree. I work for the best boss in the world, but I also realize that my job today is nothing like what it says in my job description, so I need to document everything I do every day from here on so this new person will know just what I do (since I work directly for the Dean!) I wish they had managed to audit my job before this, then I wouldn't find myself in this predicament, it would already be spelled out by the people I work for.

Since we're basically at the beginning of our year (getting our ducks lined up for the next academic year) I'm in a good position to get started taking those notes and keep it up.

Meanwhile, it's still very hot here. I ran a couple of errands earlier today, but am in for the evening, I think, unless I get a little yard work done near sunset.
