Alice, if you can look at the programming of that camera, find the white balance section and set it for the type of light in the room. When in doubt and taking a close shot, set it for flash and stay within about 10 feet of your subject.

Off to the optometrist. Don't know if I'll have to reschedule my regular checkup or what. I should get a good pair of sunglasses with bifocals. I have a pair without and they're a nuisance, I have to take them off any time I want to look at something close. Kind of defeats the reason for having sunglasses.
