This thread is a bit old. But I would say go for the Trinity as a beginner. You can't go wrong on the playability/sound/price ratios. I picked one up at 12th fret in Toronto for $600 + case a 4 years back. Still sounds & plays good. I've used it in performances etc. suits me fine.
