This is what it says on the sleeve of 'Wild & Beautiful':
[1981:] In recent times, the North Sea has exacted a terrible toll of lives from the small fishing-ports of the North-East of Scotland, with boats being lost every year. The effect this has on a tiny town is nothing short of catastrophic. Andy lived for a time in the fishing port of Buckie, and has written this song as a tribute to the courage of the fishermen and their families, although it is primarily a condemnation of the circumstances and pressures that force them into such a hazardous profession.
