It's very common for newly dominant males in many species - for example lions or some primates - to kill the infants of the males they have replaced. The opposite pattern of behaviour in which the new male protects such infants also occurs, and is more commonn in other species.

I don't think that arguments about whether some atrocious act is "natural" or "unnatural" is too relevant.
