I tried every crutch in the world; none of them helped. Finally, the only thing that worked for me was every time I got the urge to smoke I immediately put my mind to something else. I knew that if I were to dwell on it I would give in.
The urge passes if you smoke, it also passes if you don't smoke. I don't know that it is will power, it is more a matter of "energizing the thought" If you think about it, you will smoke. If you think about something else you will not smoke.
