Noam Chomsky put it accurately.   The US under the Nixon Doctrine and Kissinger
traded expansion for security. Iraq's occupation is expansion. (Manifest Destiny).
The US has a large base there. Practically the size of the Vatican. That country has been
ruined. It is still being taken apart.
