Thread Name: Lyr Req: The Wild Plainsmen's Kind (Chad Mitchell)
Subject: ADD: The Wild Plainsmen's Kind (work in progress)
Hi, don-
I've got the composers listed as J. Palmer/L. Weiser/W. Chad Mitchell. I have problems understanding it, too. Here's what I hear:

THE WILD PLAINSMEN'S KIND
(J. Palmer/L. Weiser/W. Chad Mitchell)

Round us up cowboys, we'll go to the fair
The ladies with brows poised will seem insincere
It's a time for forgetting our woes and rough care
While the wild sun is setting in the snares of their hair

Mostly we laugh, [Boys is boys, huh?] - ?????
But tonight we won't argue just dance
And lassoed by charms in the joys of their arms
We persuade them to sin and romance [in the stands] [I have no idea]

We drank lots of whiskey and we offered free wine
We were spurred to touch this knee and that knee so fine
Still our hearts held securely when she breathed please be mine
We explained so demurely we're the wild plainsmen's kind

[bridge]
Great ghosts like the wind followed joys in
We ordered the horses to prance
And in quiet alarm yearned some for a farm
Yet gone with the dust in a glance that's the chance

Round us up cowboys we'll go to the fair
The ladies with brows poised and seeming sincere
Its a time for forgetting our woes and rough care
While the white sun is setting in the snares of their hair

from the Chad Mitchell solo album, Virgo Moon

P.S. I freely acknowledge what some of my interpretations are preposterous, but that's what I hear.
