Thread Name: Lyr/Chords Req: Coal-Hole Cavalry
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: COAL HOLE CAVALRY
I'm so glad to get some idea of who wrote this wonderful song, I've been singing ever since I heard Gary and Very Aspey do it at the July Wakes (they were'nt called festivals then) in the 70s. I've played it to friends in Germany, Holland, Italy and many parties in the UK, and I always use the Bugger Of Indians (never heard it differently).

Is Ted still going because I would like to express a great thank to him for the wonderful lyrics and the depth of history the song should (but often doesn't) give the audience. When I try to explain the more obscure Lancastrian bits I usually get "get on with it" from the phillistines!

Contact through rfears@btinternet.com would be appreciated so I can make the intro even longer.
