Toyota has an interesting appetite for music. A few years ago, they offered my son's band $100,000 for their song Me and Giuliani Down by the School Yard (A True Story). The bidding got up to $250,000, but my son's band backed out because they didn't want to be "the band in the Toyota commercial." My son Nic Offer is the vocalist, and seems to be identified as the leader of the band. Some online magazine interviewed him and asked where he got his interest in music. He said that he dad was an "old folkie" - but the magazine article said Nic's dad was an "old fogey." I wonder what Toyota paid for the polka.
