Thread Name: Lyr Req: 'No more days of school' (Kids song)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'No more days of school' (Kids song)
My Mum, in NZ used to chant something similar:
One more day and we will be Out of the gates of misery No more marching 2 by 2 Like the monkeys in the zoo No more spelling, no more sums No more teachers to smack our bums No more latin, no more french No more sitting on a hard wood bench
I can't remember any more of that one but I heard the other one sung by Isla StClair at Loughborough FF back in 1972. From memory it goes:
Come to my school, come to my school It's a life of misery There's a signpost on the corner Saying welcome unto thee Don't believe it, don't believe it It's a pack of dirty lies If it wasna for the teachers We would be in paradise Build a bonfire, build a bonfire Put the Headie on the top Put the teachers round the middle And burn the bl***y lot!
